Air New Zealand considering October bond issue

Air New Zealand (Air NZ) is looking at the sale of fixed rate bonds to institutional investors and New Zealand retail investors. Read More » In filings to the Australian and New Zealand stock exchanges this week the airline states it will release details of any offer by October 17, the date the bond sale is anticipated to open. “As part of Air New Zealand’s post-COVID strategy, the airline is focussed on continuing to have a diverse range of debt sources,” Air NZ said. “As a proudly New Zealand company it feels it is important to support New Zealand capital markets.” Air NZ's NZ$50 million (US$28.3 million) of unsecured, unsubordinated, fixed rate bonds, listed on the NZX Debt Market, matures on October 28. The company has appointed Westpac Banking Corporation as arranger with ANZ Bank New Zealand, Forsyth Barr and Jarden Securities as joint lead managers alongside Westpac.
