Airbus India president and managing director, Anand Stanley, has been promoted to Airbus president for Asia Pacific, the Toulouse manufacturer announced this week. Read More » Stanley takes up his new role on July 1 and replaces Patrick de Castelbajac. In February, aircraft lessor, Nordic Aviation Capital, named de Castelbajac as its new CEO.

The Financial Times reported this week the company had tapped three former senior executives to support the manufacturer's supply chains impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Former Airbus commercial chief operating officer, Tom Williams, will lead a task force in the U.K., former Airbus aircraft programs boss, Didier Evrard, will cover France, and former Airbus defence CEO, Bernhard Gerwert, will focus on Germany, the report said.


Thai Airways International (THAI) this week named Chansin Treenuchagron as a new independent director, replacing former Thailand government minister, Pailin Chuchottaworn, who resigned from the board shortly after being appointed in May due to legal concerns. Treenuchagron is chairman of IRPC Public Company Limited and until May 2020 was president and CEO of PTT Exploration and Production Limited.


Indian carrier, IndiGo, said late last week it had appointed Venkataramani Sumantran as an independent director of the company. Dr Sumantran, who also held the position of chairman and managing director at Celeris Technologies, was appointed for a five-year term.


Air Vanuatu CEO, Derek Nice, will leave the airline at the end of his contract on June 25, it was announced this week. Nice, who has been in charge of the airline since June 2018, said the decision to step down was made in the best interests of the company as the airline embarked on an organisational restructure prompted by COVID-19. It included putting the delivery of A220 regional jets "on hold".
