Read More » “Ahead of the Mainland’s forthcoming Labour Day ‘Golden Week, we are seeing a healthy increase in travel demand between China and Hong Kong and to regional destinations via the Hong Kong hub,” Lau said in an April 19 update. “We will be increasing our Mainland frequencies to around 200 round trip flights a week [in the holiday period].” Cathay Pacific flew 1.9 million passengers in March, up 42.4% from 1.3 million customers flown in the same month a year ago. Cathay Pacific passengers carried for the 31 days were 60.5% of the 3.1 million air travellers it transported in pre-COVID March 2019. “Our travel business performed well in March, with healthy demand leading to and during the Easter holiday,” Lau said. “Demand in the premium cabin to and from Hong Kong also remained strong.”
