Hawaiian Airlines has surrendered seven slot pairs at Tokyo Haneda to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT) for potential reallocation to rival U.S. carriers. Read More » The night time slots are four flights a week from Honolulu and three a week from Kona. “Hawaiian did not take this decision lightly,” the airline said in its notice to the DoT, and added it had invested “significant time and resources” building its Haneda operations, particularly in this northern hemisphere winter scheduling season. “However, market conditions make continued operation of the flights economically unviable.
