Ancillary revenue technology provider, GoQuo, has been identified by Malindo Air as the source of a data leak. Approximately 35 million passenger records at Malindo and Thai Lion Air were leaked. The airline group’s Indonesian carriers were unaffected. The leaked data included passport particulars. No payment details were compromised.

Malindo said two former GoQuo employees stole the data from the Indian office. The case has been reported to police in India and Malaysia.

The data was eventually put on servers from Amazon Web Services (AWS), but Malindo said AWS was not at fault and dismissed speculation AWS security could have been compromised. The AWS servers were in Singapore AWS is increasing its roster of airline clients.
