China Eastern has re-named executive jet division “China Eastern Business Jet” to “123 Airlines”, according to regulatory filings. China Eastern also has changed the business scope to regular air transportation.
China Eastern will place domestically produced aircraft – ARJ21 and C919 – with 123 Airlines. This will allow for more favourable subsidies and incentives, the airline said. It could also protect the China Eastern brand from any downside.
