AIRLINES: LCC arm of the Singapore Airlines Group, Scoot, will move from Singapore Changi Airport’s Terminal 2 to an improved Terminal 1 on October 22. Read More » Scoot has launched eight destinations in China, India, Laos and Malaysia since April and intends to add nine more routes to its network by year-end 2020. Vietnam Airlines has recorded a pre-tax interim profit of US$77.5 million, up 21.8% year-on-year and 13% above its forecast results.

CODE SHARES: American Airlines will commence Cathay Dragon code shares from Hong Kong to Chiang Mai, Da Nang, Dhaka, Haoi, Kuala Lumpu, Penang and Phuket on July 11. 

LEASING: Air Lease Corporation (ALC) has placed two A320-200neo at Vietnam Airlines with deliveries scheduled for the second half of 2020. The airliners are from ALC’s order book with Airbus.

ROUTES: All Nippon Airways (ANA) will commence Tokyo Narita-Chennai three times a week with 787-8s on October 27, marking ANA’s third route into India after Narita to Mumbai and Delhi. ANA also will begin flying Narita-Perth on September 1. China Eastern Airlines will launch Dalian-Kitakyushu three times a week, with A320s, on August 17. EVA Air is scheduled to start Taipei-Milan Malpensa four times a week from February 18 next year. GoAir has announced several new international routes: Delhi to Abu Dhabi and Bangkok, Kunnar to Dubai and Mumbai to Abu Dhabi, Mumbai and Muscat. The additional destinations will be out from July 19 to August 1. NokScoot will expand its Bangkok Don Mueang-Shanghai Pudong service to daily on August 1.
