The Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) this week presented the industry with a sobering outlook for the remaining months of 2021.
In addition to news May recorded demand for air travel in the region was 95.5% below pre-COVID-19 levels, the AAPA director general, Subhas Menon, said more government support would likely be needed to support the region’s airlines during the ongoing pandemic crisis.
Financial results published this week confirmed airlines continue to do it tough. PT AirAsia Indonesia descended deeper into the red in the first three months of calendar 2021. India’s SpiceJet also has reported a quarterly loss, albeit a narrowing one. Read More »
